Vintage Letters #4

November 15th 1887

My dear Brother James,

I’ve received your very welcome letter saturday night, and I suppose you have received ours, as we wrote the same night you did I believe.  Now you must not be too hard on us for not writing, for I at least do as well as I can.  I know it looks badly that we don’t write oftener than we do and I should like to have a letter at the P.O. every saturday night for you if I could but wont that do?  I’m inclined to think to think you had the “blues” a little when you wrote.  I like to see boys get the “blues” as they are often called sometimes…
